After a year of multiple doctor visits which included service gaps and poor interprofessional communication, my mother was finally diagnosed with laryngeal carcinoma. Intentionally or unintentionally, the delays resulted in disease progression and lost in her ability to talk. Hence, the beginning of my Healthcare Navigation and Patient Advocacy journey.
